MULTAN (Kashmir English): Renowned religious scholar Allama Nasir Madni suffered a heart attack while delivering a sermon during Friday prayers in Jahanian, Khanewal District, Punjab.
As per the details, Madni was rushed to a hospital in Multan in critical condition. He was reciting the Kalima when his health deteriorated.
Witnesses said he collapsed on the pulpit during the sermon after suffering a cardiac episode. He was immediately provided with first aid before being shifted to Pervaiz Elahi Institute of Cardiology, Multan, for further treatment.
DSP Jahanian Malik Abdul Majeed was also present at the mosque on this occasion.
However, after a few hours, he was discharged from the hospital.
In a video message from the hospital, Madni expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for the immediate medical assistance that was provided on her instructions.
The district administration came and gave a message on her behalf to take care of him. The hospital staff cooperated very well in every way with the treatment, he said.
