QUETTA (Kashmir English): The first snowfall of the winter season has led to road closures in Chaman and other areas of northern Balochistan, leaving hundreds of tourists stuck.
The meteorological department states that Chaman, Khojak Top, Khwaja Imran, Toba Achakzai, Qila Abdullah, Gulistan, Jangal Pir Alizai, Shela Bagh, and Mezai Adda are under the snowfall treatment.
The temperature fell as low as -3 degrees Celsius in Khojak Top and Khwaja Imran, while Toba Achakzai reported -4 degrees Celsius with snow cover of one and a half feet.
Heavy snowfall blankets Noshki and Qalat. Noshki and Qalat have been impacted by the first winter snowfall, which has resulted in a considerable drop in temperatures in the region.
After eight years, the snowfall in the area has once again turned the mountains into a picturesque sight as they were covered in a white blanket. The media has reported that the power outage has made life difficult for the people living there.
Qalat city and its vicinity have already been receiving heavy continuous snowfall since last night. The snow cover has spread all over the region, and it has significantly decreased the temperatures, making the winters more severe.
