MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Education Department of Azad Kashmir has taken prompt action against a cheating scandal that surfaced at the Leswa examination center.
District Education Officer Khawaja Zakir Bande led the charge in suspending the staff of Boys High School Leswa for their alleged involvement in the cheating incident.
The suspended staff include Muhammad Ashfaq, Aftab Ahmed, and Amjad Roshan. Zahoor Hussain Malik has also been appointed as the inquiry officer in the matter.
The incident has raised serious concerns with the public who is seeking stricter measures to stop cheating at remote examination centres.
To address this issue, the public is seeking that the government and the board take measures, such as relocating examination centers closer to main roads, using external examination staff from other districts, and installing CCTV cameras to monitor examination centers.
The public believes that cheating is a violation of hard–working student’s rights and is urging that authorities take full measures to ensure abuse is prevented.
The quick response by the Azad Kashmir Education Department concerning the cheating incident is a step in the right direction.
However, the public’s demands for more significant punitive actions illustrate the need for a holistic approach to the realities of cheating and the integrity of the assessment procedure.
