MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Iftikhar Gillani on Monday announced the provision of an angiography machine and 100 additional beds for District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Bhimber.
PM Gillani, along with Speaker Legislative Assembly Tariq Farooq and government ministers, visited DHQ Hospital Bhimber, where he reviewed the facilities at the hospital and was briefed by the hospital administration.
Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Iftikhar Gilani directed the Health Department to immediately complete the ongoing civil work in the hospital and make the cath lab operational.
He further said that an angiography machine for the Cath Lab will be purchased under the 100-day plan on an immediate basis, announcing that 100 more beds for the hospital, of which 50 beds will be given to the emergency department.
Gillani also announced that additional budget will be provided for emergency services and the dialysis center.
DHQ Bhimber renamed
Additionally, Prime Minister Iftikhar renamed DHQ Hospital Bhimber after the late Ghulam Ahmed Chaudhry, founder of Chinar Free Dialysis Center.
In this regard, the PM and Legislative Assembly Speaker Tariq Farooq unveiled a memorial plaque named after the late Ghulam Chaudhry, installed outside the hospital’s OPD.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister said that this is an excellent way to pay tribute to personalities who have selflessly served humanity and to ensure their legacy lives on for future generations.
“The free treatment and dialysis service initiated by the late Ghulam Chaudhry for patients suffering from kidney diseases continues to this day, benefiting hundreds of patients,” he stated.
The premier, while appreciating the services of the administration and the entire team of the Chinar Free Dialysis Center, said that providing free dialysis facilities to kidney patients is a great humanitarian service.
Later, Gillani visited the dialysis center, where he met patients and reviewed the medical facilities and administrative matters. On this occasion, a cake was also cut to mark 18 years of successful and free treatment services for kidney patients by the Chinar Free Dialysis Center.
Speaker Chaudhry Tariq Farooq, Minister for Energy and Water Resources Saqib Majeed Raja and others were present with the premier.
Chinar Free Dialysis Center President Musa Jan, Senior Vice President Atiq Barsali, General Secretary Raja Altamas Khan and other administrative members welcomed the Prime Minister.
