MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Gazetted Officers Association held a special meeting in Muzaffarabad to discuss the Haveli incident, where two government employees lost their lives due to alleged illegal tampering with overhead wires.

The meeting, chaired by President Yasir Ali Gilani, concluded with a demand for a high-level fact-finding committee to investigate the incident.

The association demanded a transparent and impartial investigation into the incident, citing that the Electricity Department had reported the illegal construction to the authorities in writing in 2023.

In the same vein, the Deputy Commissioner of Haveli also declared this building illegal and has moved for its demolition. The staff of the Electricity Department was not present on the day of the incident.

The power wires were later illegally tampered, causing the loss of two human lives.

The association further alleged that if the investigation finds officers responsible, strict and impartial legal action should be taken against them.

The association warned that any action against Electricity Officers without a complete investigation will not be accepted, and they will be forced to take direct action.
