MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Election Commission of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has declared the nomination papers of Acting President and Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Chaudhry Latif Akbar, valid, clearing him to contest the upcoming elections.
The decision was announced after the scrutiny process of his nomination papers was completed in Muzaffarabad. Following a review of all legal objections and relevant documents, the Election Commission ruled that the papers met all legal requirements.
According to the Commission, Chaudhry Latif Akbar is fully eligible to participate in the electoral process, with no legal impediment preventing him from contesting the elections.
The ruling has been welcomed by his supporters and party workers, who described it as a significant boost to his election campaign. Political observers say the decision is likely to have an impact on the electoral landscape in Muzaffarabad and surrounding constituencies.
