MIRPUR (Kashmir English): Renowned educationist of Azad Kashmir, and the first woman in the state to attain a graduate degree, Mohtarma Hameeda Mir passed away in Mirpur at the age of 90.
She served with distinction as the Principal of Government Girls High School Kalyal for 10 years and also led several other schools in Mirpur in the same capacity.
Later, she held the position of Director of Education in Kotli, where she served for a decade and made significant contributions to the development of the education sector.
A great educationist
Mohtarma Hameeda Mir holds the distinction of being the first woman in Azad Kashmir to attain a graduate degree, paving the way for future generations of women in education.
She spent her entire life in Mirpur, where she was also laid to rest.
