MIRPUR (Kashmir English): The rumors and news circulating on social media regarding the regional liaison offices of the board in Muzaffarabad and Rawalakot for the past few days are baseless and contrary to facts, according to the spokesperson of the AJK Education Board, Mirpur.
The spokesperson explained that the education board is currently in its digitization phase, during which most of the services related to the board for students have been made online.
Under these facilities, students can fill out and submit the online application form by submitting the challan through One Bill, Easy Paisa, or Jazz Cash and can get the required documents sitting at home.
However, due to lack of computer literacy, a large number of the public and students are not taking advantage of these facilities.
The education board has decided to establish District Student Facilitation Centers to inform and facilitate the students and the public, which will be provided at every district headquarters after the approval of the Board of Governors and the Controlling Authority.
The spokesperson clarified that the sub-offices of Muzaffarabad and Rawalakot will continue to function. The purpose of the additional facility is that, as per the vision of the Prime Minister of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Government and the Minister for Higher Education, all the issues related to the education board of students of Neelum, Jhelum Valley, Bagh, Sadhanoti, Haveli Kahuta, Kotli and Bhimber districts can be resolved at the district headquarters itself.
With this initiative, students from remote districts, even if they are not computer literate, will be able to deal with their matters at the local level, which will save time, travel hassles, and additional expenses.
Furthermore, the spokesperson added that a fact-finding committee has been formed against the employees of the education board who spread news and rumors contrary to the facts, which will take strict disciplinary action against such employees in the light of its report and recommendations.
The public has also been requested not to panic over any rumours without documentary evidence.
