MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission has partially authorized the Deputy Election Commissioner Rawalpindi to receive and scrutinize nomination papers related to five constituencies of the Poonch district in AJK.
In a press release, the electoral body has said that Returning Officers already appointed for all constituencies in Rawalakot will continue to perform their election-related duties as usual.
The commission said that the decision was taken to ensure the timely and fair conduct of the election process under the current circumstances.
The move is aimed at facilitating candidates to submit nomination papers and ensuring that all electoral procedures are completed smoothly.
The press release added that candidates from Poonch district should contact the Deputy Election Commissioner Rawalpindi at Poonch House, Saddar Rawalpindi, for the issuance, submission, and scrutiny of nomination papers and other related matters.
