MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government has extended the summer vacations by another 4 days.
According to a notification issued by the Secretary, Elementary and Secondary Education, summer educational institutions across Azad Kashmir will remain closed for another four days.
Under the government decision, the new period of vacations has been fixed from Monday, August 10, 2026 to Thursday, August 13, 2026.
This decision will be applicable to government summer educational institutions as well as all private educational institutions.
Further instructions regarding the resumption of teaching activities will be issued by the Education Department.
Parents and students have been directed to keep an eye on the upcoming instructions issued by the education department so that timely information can be obtained regarding the resumption of educational activities.
Despite the announcement of 4 holidays by the government, it is not certain whether schools will be able to open even after 4 days.
Friday, August 14, will be an official holiday, while Saturday and Sunday will also be holidays, so now educational institutions will remain closed till August 17.
