MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): An important session of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly has been summoned in Muzaffarabad on Wednesday (today), where key issues including law and order and the current political situation are expected to be discussed.

In parliamentary and political circles, it is being anticipated that a resolution could be presented during the session in support of the establishment of a Truth and Reconciliation Commission, as proposed by Pakistan Peoples’ Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to resolve the current crisis in Azad Kashmir.

During his recent visit to Muzaffarabad, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had suggested that an independent and empowered commission should be established to determine the facts regarding the current crisis.

It should hear the stance and grievances of all parties, review political, legal, and administrative matters, and formulate actionable recommendations for a fair and sustainable solution to the crisis.

However, official confirmation regarding the presentation of such a resolution or its inclusion in the official agenda of the assembly session has not yet surfaced.

If such a resolution is presented, it would be considered a significant parliamentary development in the context of the current political crisis in the state.
