ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The All Government Employees Grand Alliance (AGEGA), Azad Kashmir, has strongly condemned the police torture and efforts to arrest its leadership during the recent protest in Islamabad.
The alliance’s central leaders, including GM Khan Sarkhil, Waqas Gilani, and Faizan Mughal, praised the efforts of Chief Coordinator Rehman Ali Bajwa and his team for their tireless work in securing key demands, including a 30% disparity allowance, 10% ad hoc relief allowance, tax rebate for teachers, and increased disabled allowance.
The AGEGA leaders pledged their solidarity with the employees and promised to continue their fight for employees’ rights despite the government’s efforts at silencing them through violence and force.
“We will voice our protests on every platform to safeguard the rights of employees and will never compromise on these rights at any cost,” the leaders declared.
They called the actions of the police undemocratic and shameful, reiterating that their peaceful protest is a legal and constitutional right.
The AGEGA leaders informed the employees that their fight would not end until their demands were fulfilled and vowed to be with them until the very end.
They thanked their team members, including Haider Ali Khan, Raja Tahir, and others, for their dedicated efforts in support of the cause.
The leaders of the alliance asked the government to act immediately to end the troubles of employees, especially of the lower ranks, and give them timely raises in their salaries to meet the increasing cost of living.
