Awareness seminar on women’s employment, credit facilities held in Mirpur

MIRPUR (Kashmir English): An awareness seminar was organized in collaboration with Mirpur Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (SMEDA) under the management of Small Industries Corporation on the provision of credit to women for employment.

Secretary Industries and Commerce Khalid Mahmood Mirza was the special guest of the event. On this occasion, Managing Director Small Industries Muhammad Zeeshan Arif, Vice President Mirpur Chamber of Commerce Chaudhry Humayun Naeem, Director Industries Muhammad Amjad Mughal, Director Projects Small Industries Sardar Abdul Khaliq Abbasi, Regional Director SMEDA Chaudhry Rukhsar, Assistant Director Small Industries Raja Niaz Ahmed Khan addressed the seminar and highlighted the importance of women’s participation in economic activities.

During the seminar, Senior Officer State Bank Muhammad Zubair informed the participants about the banks established in Azad Kashmir and various loan schemes of the State Bank.

Secretary Industries and Commerce Khalid Mahmood Mirza, referring to the steps taken by the Azad Kashmir government to employ women, said that women should take advantage of the microfinancing program launched in collaboration with Azad Kashmir Small Industries and Akhuwat and join economic activities to not only support themselves but also play their role in the economic activities of the state.

Furthermore, the Secretary of Industries and Commerce also informed the women about the launch of the Prime Minister Youth Loan Program as per the vision of the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir. A large number of skilled and business-related women participated in the seminar.
