Kashmir Volleyball League concludes with Sidhanoti team emerging as champions

MIRPUR (Kashmir English): The colorful 3-day ceremony of the  Kashmir Volleyball League in collaboration with the Pak Army, Civil Administration and Sports Board has come to an end.

General Officer Commanding 23 Division Major General Intikhab Alam was the chief guest of the ceremony, while Commissioner Chaudhry Mukhtar Hussain, Deputy Commissioner Yasir Riaz, SSP Khawar Ali Shaukat, and others also participated.

General Officer Commanding 23 Division Major General Muhammad Intikhab Alam was given a grand welcome on arrival at the ground.

The final match was played between the teams of Rawalakot and Sidhanoti, which Sidhanoti won and became the champion of the tournament, while the team of Rawalakot remained the runner-up.

GOC 23 Division Major General Muhammad Intikhab Alam gave medals and cash prizes to the players of the winning team, while Commissioner Chaudhry Shaukat Ali gave medals and cash prizes to the players of the runner-up team.

GOC Major General Intikhab Alam awarded the winners and runners-up trophies to the captain and team manager of the Sidhanoti volleyball team, which was declared the champion.

In the tournament, Shahzeb of Poonch was declared the best smasher, Azan of Sidhanoti, Ashir of Sidhanoti, and Muhammad Shahzeb were declared the best players of the tournament, while Basharat, Amiravis, and Syed Shahbab Ali of the National Referee Pakistan Volleyball Federation were also awarded prizes.

Renowned anchorperson Humayun Zaman Mirza kept commentating the matches of the Shamir Volleyball League very cheerfully and was also receiving praise from the fans. Volleyball teams from 10 districts of Azad Kashmir participated in the tournament.

An All Youth Sports Festival was also organized in collaboration with the Pak Army, Civil Administration, and Sports Board, under which cricket tournaments were also held in Bhimber district and football tournaments in Kotli.

This Youth Sports Festival aimed to attract the young generation towards healthy activities and to highlight their mental and physical abilities.

On this occasion, the Pak Army Band troop circled the ground to arouse the emotions of the youth to the tunes of the traditional band and saluted the GOC.

During the final match, the players showed the full essence of their talent. Whenever a team got a point, the players were encouraged to the beat of the drum, while the fans also applauded the players.
