LAHORE (Kashmir English): In the 15th match of the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Quetta Gladiators defeated Karachi Kings by 5 runs.

The winning team had set a target of 143 runs to win, but the Karachi Kings team could only score 137 runs for 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

In the 15th match of the PSL, which is ongoing at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, the Quetta Gladiators team, batting first at the invitation of Karachi Kings, was bowled out for 142 runs in 19.3 overs.

Quetta Gladiators, who opened the innings first, did not have a good start. They had to suffer the first loss for just 7 runs when Saud Shakeel was caught by Shan Masood off the ball of Hassan Ali after scoring just 6 runs.

Quetta’s second wicket fell for 8, the third for 20, and the fourth for 44 runs, while half the team returned to the pavilion for 69 runs.

However, on this occasion, Quetta’s Kaushal Mendis and Hassan Nawaz made a partnership of 59 runs, while Mendis was dismissed for 36 runs on a total of 128 runs.

Faheem Ashraf was the team’s successful batsman with 43 runs, while Hassan Nawaz also played an innings of 35 runs. Apart from this, other batsmen failed to perform, and thus the entire Quetta team returned to the pavilion for 142 runs in the 20th over.

For Karachi Kings, Hassan Ali took 3 wickets, while Mir Hamza and Abbas Afridi took 2 wickets each. In addition, Mohammad Nabi and Fawad Ali managed to take one wicket each.

For Kings, Tim Seifert stood out by scoring 47 runs, James Vince 30, Umair Bin Yousuf 11, Shan Masood 9, captain David Warner and Mohammad Nabi 4, 4, Khushdil Shah and Abbas Afridi were out for zero.

Hassan Ali returned to the pavilion not out after scoring 24 and Mir Hamza 3 runs, thus the Karachi team failed to achieve the target and could only score 137 runs for 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

For Quetta Gladiators, Muhammad Wasim, Muhammad Amir, and Khurram Shahzad took 2 wickets each, while Abrar Ahmed and Saud Shakeel took 1 wicket each.
