ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Chairman Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon has strongly condemn the recent tragic incident in Pahalgam in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, in which innocent lives were lost.

“I express my heartfelt condolences to the affected families and pray for the swift recovery of the injured,” he said in a statement.

“It is extremely concerning that this incident occurred in the most militarily monitored area on the globe. Evidence has emerged indicating that the attackers were in military uniforms, reminiscent of past reprehensible events.”

Legitimate freedom struggle by Kashmiris

The Kashmir Committee Chairman said that it appears to be a premeditated action, aimed at tarnishing the legitimate struggle for freedom by Kashmiris and diverting global attention from ongoing human rights violations in the occupied territory.

The stance presented by the India is unacceptable without any credible evidence and impartial investigation, he added.

Noon appealed to the international community and human rights organizations to take immediate notice of this incident and demand an impartial international investigation.

“The world must not remain silent on the Indian state’s propaganda and the atrocities being inflicted on the Kashmiris.”

The people of Kashmir have been waiting for justice for seven decades, Rana Qasim Noon said and added that no fake action can negate their right to self-determination as per the United Nations resolutions.
