MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Sagna Tofarabad to Khulana bypass road, constructed at Rs 75.6 million in the suburbs of Chakothi near the Line of Control (LoC), has become a symbol of negligence and irresponsibility of the Public Works Department (PWD) Jhelum Valley.

Despite being built a year and a half ago, the road has not been paved properly and is now in a state of disrepair.

During the rains, a severe landslide occurred on the road, blocking water drainage channels and causing damage to the road surface.

Despite repeated attention to the officials of the PWD Jhelum Valley, the department failed to clear the road, stop landslides, clear mudslides, and restore water drainage channels, leaving the road in a hazardous condition.

As per details, debris is still lying on the road, and the water drainage channels are blocked, causing puddles and damage to the road surface.

Despite the passage of years, the Public Works Department has not even cleared the landslides by using machines. The debris on the road is still there, blocking the water drainage channels.

If immediate action is not taken, Sagna Road will be completely ruined in a few months. The residents of the area are demanding that the PWD take immediate action to clean the mudslides, restore the water drainage channels, and build walls that have been washed away by the rains.
