HATTIAN BALA (Kashmir English): A heartwarming ceremony was held to award a cash prize of one lakh rupees to Zeb Rashid, a brilliant student from Elementary Board Jhelum Valley, for securing the top position in his class VIII annual examinations.
As per details, the prize money was presented by President Jammu and Kashmir Union of Journalists Jhelum Valley Syed Adnan Fatemi on behalf of social media activist Yusuf Saeed, with Deputy Commissioner Jhelum Valley Ashfaq Gilani and SP Mirza Zahid Hussain in attendance.
The result of Zeb Rashid came when he was working as a laborer while fasting. His extraordinary hard work and success caught the attention of social media activist Yousaf Saeed, who announced a cash prize of Rs 100,000 to recognize Zeb’s efforts.
Zeb Rashid and his father expressed their happiness on receiving the prize money and expressed their gratitude to all those who appreciated his hard work. The young boy vowed to work even harder in the future, aiming to make his family and region proud by pursuing higher education.
Deputy Commissioner Jhelum Valley Syed Ashfaq Gilani, SP Mirza Zahid Hussain, and Syed Adnan Fatemi praised Zeb’s achievement, emphasizing the importance of supporting and encouraging talented students. They stressed promoting education and ensuring that no child is deprived of their right to education due to lack of resources.
Speaking on the occasion, Zeb Rashid said, “I believed in my hard work, but I never thought that a student like me would be so well-received. I am grateful to Allah and also thank all those who appreciated my hard work.”
“I will work harder in the future and make the name of the country and nation brighter. My dream is to become a source of pride for my family and region by pursuing higher education,” he said.
Assistant Commissioner Hattian Bala Kamran Khan, Deputy DEO Abdul Ghafoor Abbasi, and Kand hawar Haroon Abbasi were also present on the occasion.
