MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Minister of Public Health, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), has directed the department officials to ensure the display of the list of medicines provided in the hospitals, promoting transparency and accountability.

The directions were taken during the monthly review meeting, held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Public Health, Nisar Ansar Abdali. The meeting was attended by the Director General of Public Health, Azad Kashmir, Additional Director Health Services, Principal Medical Colleges and all DHOs.

The minister issued orders to ensure the implementation of the referral policy to ensure the seamless treatment of patients outside Azad Kashmir. Abdali also issued key directives to enhance the quality and accessibility of medical facilities in the region.

To improve data collection, the minister instructed officials to compile data on deliveries and deaths in hospitals and medical centers on a daily basis. Additionally, details of ambulances used in all hospitals across Azad Kashmir will be compiled.

In addition to that, the minister also emphasised the need for hospitals to ensure the provision of anti-snake and anti-rabies vaccines to combat emergencies. Furthermore, all laboratories in Azad Kashmir will be regulated under the Lab Act Rules, with immediate action to be taken on renewing expiring drug licenses.

To streamline the system, the minister ordered the elimination of unnecessary affiliations, with relevant authorities to be reported within a week. To ensure timely and efficient medical services, the minister also directed officials to tighten the monitoring of biometric attendants.
