ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The tentative dates of the ICC Men’s ODI Cricket World Cup 2027, scheduled to be played in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia, have been revealed.

The marquee tournament will run from October 4 to November 21 next year, ESPNcricinfo reported.

The decision was taken during the ICC board meeting in Ahmedabad in May 2025, with the finer details set to be confirmed at the ICC’s annual meeting in Edinburgh in July

According to the report, a total of 54 matches will be played in the World Cup 2027. South Africa will host at least 41 of the 54 games at 8 venues, with Zimbabwe set to host 8 to 10 games, and three will be played in Namibia.

Earlier last year, Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced eight venues, namely Johannesburg, Durban, Gqeberha, Pretoria, Cape Town, Bloemfontein, East London and Paarl.

Zimbabwe will have three venues, including Harare Sports Club, Queens in Bulawayo, and the currently under-construction Fale Mosi-oa-Tunya International Cricket Stadium.

The 2027 ODI World Cup will feature 14 teams divided into two groups of seven, before the top three from each group advance to the Super Six stage.

The upcoming World Cup will also be the first ICC event of the 2027-2031 Future Tours Programme (FTP), which governs bilateral international engagements between sides and which is set to be finalised at ICC meetings in Hong Kong later this year.
