TEHRAN (Kashmir English): US Central Command has said that forces have begun launching additional self-defence strikes against multiple targets in Iran.
According to CENTCOM, these strikes, being carried out on President Trump’s directives, are in “response to Iran’s unwarranted and continued aggression”.
CENTCOM wrote on X: “U.S. Central Command forces began launching additional self-defense strikes today at 5:15 p.m. ET against multiple targets in Iran at the Commander in Chief’s direction. The strikes are in response to Iran’s unwarranted and continued aggression.”
“Powerful attacks on Iran”
Earlier, the US Secretary of War threatened to launch powerful attacks on Iran.
Explosions were heard in various Iranian cities including Minab, Sirik Island, and Qeshm Island. Iran’s defense system has been activated in Fars Province.
Iran’s Mehr News Agency reported that an explosion was heard in the city of Fars, which was the activation of the air defense system outside the city. An explosion was also heard in Iran’s capital, Tehran.
Meanwhile, Iran’s official news agency IRNA stated that the defence system is countering the American attacks and the explosions on Qeshm Island are due to missile interception.
Meanwhile, Iranian media reported that the Revolutionary Guards have targeted US naval vessels near the Strait of Hormuz, and intense clashes are ongoing between the two countries.
