MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Supreme Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has fixed the constitutional reference filed by the AJK government regarding the refugee seats matter for hearing on Monday.
According to the apex court’s clause list, the reference will be heard by a three-member full bench comprising Chief Justice Raja Saeed Akram, Justice Raza Ali Khan, and Justice Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry tomorrow at 9:30 a.m.
As per details, the government has sought the Supreme Court’s legal opinion on several constitutional and legal questions concerning the continuous demand for the elimination of 12 refugee seats in the AJK Legislative Assembly.
The reference aims to remove ambiguities and obtain authoritative guidance on the matter, sources said.
During the hearing, the Advocate General will appear in court on behalf of the government and assist with various legal aspects of the reference.
