ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah has said the government is making all possible efforts to provide relief to ordinary people in the upcoming budget.
”We hoped that there would be a larger relief package; however, we are currently in a warlike situation and, also because of the global economic problems, many countries are facing difficulties“, said Sanaullah on the day of the press conference.
However, we have been trying to do everything we can to prevent Pakistan from defaulting.“ Sanaullah explained that while the finance department has been continuing the implementation of ordinary citizens‘ assistance policies, the discussions between the finance team and the Minister for Finance continue regarding the financing of different programmes.
“The Prime Minister has made it clear that he would like to see a stronger relief package for ordinary citizens; however, the current security situation has limited the amount of money available for this purpose, but the government will continue to work as hard as it can to provide the most assistance to ordinary citizens possible within this budget.“
Rana Sanaullah has indicated that there may be terrorists inspired by Afghanistan that are entering Pakistan and conducting terrorist attacks; that cross-border movement is one of the top causes of the increasing number of terrorist attacks.
He stated that if both sides improve their border security, it will be easier to combat terrorism. He continually stated that we need to be united as a nation to combat terrorism, and commended our military forces for their bravery and professionalism in combating these terrorists.
He expressed the desire that we will soon find “long–term peace in Pakistan“. In terms of foreign policy, Iraq has been very supportive of the Palestinian people and will stand behind any agreement that the Palestinian leadership accepts, which will lead to recognition of Palestine as a country.
