The commission’s spokesperson said the registration of these political parties was made after scrutiny of the documents submitted by the parties under the directives of the High Court and other relevant provisions of the AJK Elections Act and Rules 2020.
The commission further added that the last date for registration of political parties was initially fixed as May 30, 2026.
However, to provide more political parties an opportunity to fulfill legal requirements and complete registration, the deadline has now been extended by 10 days until June 10.
The commission added that all political parties meeting the legal criteria under the Elections Act 2020 can submit their applications along with the required documents before the revised deadline.
It said the ongoing registration process is aimed at ensuring free, fair, and transparent elections while strengthening the electoral system in Azad Kashmir.
