ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): A constitutional petition has been filed in the Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) seeking the reinstatement of Ali Amin Gandapur as Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Sher Afzal Marwat filed the petition, challenging Gandapur’s resignation and the subsequent appointment process.
The petitioner alleged that Ali Amin Gandapur’s resignation was allegedly obtained under pressure and should be declared unconstitutional, illegal, and void.
It further argued that the resignation was not voluntary and claimed it was taken “at the dictation of a convicted and incompetent individual,” though no specific name was mentioned in the court filing shared publicly.
The petition prayed the top court to declare Sohail Afridi’s notification of appointment as Chief Minister null and void.
“All government decisions taken so far, based on unconstitutional actions, should be cancelled, ” the petition added. Marwat urged the court to reinstate Ali Amin Gandapur as Chief Minister of KP.
