KHUIRATTA (Kashmir English): Kotli Police on Wednesday arrested two high-profile thieves from Khuiratta Tehsil and recovered stolen goods worth millions of rupees.
As per details, the Station House Officer (SHO) Khuiratta Sadaqat Hussain along with his team comprising Muhammad Akmal and Sajjad Ahmad raided and detained the accused.
According to the police, the complainant Atiqur Rehman registered an FIR with the police, stating that clothes worth Rs18 lakhs had been stolen from a bus stop.
The police acting on the report identified the accused through CCTV camera and arrested the prime accused Yusuf son of Amir Ali, an Afghan national, and recovered a cloth bundle worth Rs1.8 million and the motorcycle used in the theft.
The facilitator Muhammad Gul son of Zarif, resident of Nowshera, was also arrested and a case was registered against the accused under Section 51/25 of EHA.14, while the search for the motorcycle driver Umair is underway, police said.
