ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan has rejected remarks made by the British Special Representative for Afghanistan, terming them one-sided and lacking a comprehensive understanding of the situation along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said Pakistan had taken note of the social media post but found the comments devoid of ground realities.

The spokesperson reported that Afghan Taliban elements conducted unprovoked attacks against Pakistan, which resulted in the deaths of 52 civilians and the injuries of 84 other people.

He stated that cross-border aggression and infiltration attempts from the Afghan side had continued despite Pakistan’s goodwill gesture of a temporary pause announced in March 2026.

Pakistan maintained its restraint but used targeted strikes against militant bases and their supporting infrastructure to achieve operational success against multiple infiltration attempts. He rejected Afghan claims of civilian casualties caused by Pakistan’s actions, calling them baseless and lacking credible evidence.

Andrabi said such remarks, which fail to address the root causes of terrorism, do not present a balanced or objective view of the situation. He requested a more complete understanding of regional dynamics while he showed Pakistan’s principled position and its sacrifices in the battle against terrorism.
