ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The district administration of Islamabad has issued a series of important directives covering transport operations, public recreational spaces, and revised business timings in the federal capital.
Public transport restored Partially
Authorities have allowed all types of public and goods transport to enter the city. Bus operations have also resumed across most terminals; however, the Faizabad Bus Terminal will remain closed until further notice.
Hiking trails and parks reopened
In a separate announcement, the administration confirmed that hiking trails in the Margalla Hills will reopen for visitors from tomorrow.
Public parks across the city have also been reopened, including popular recreational spots such as Daman-e-Koh and Lake View Park, providing relief to residents seeking outdoor activities.
Revised business timings enforced
As part of ongoing austerity measures, the administration has implemented revised business hours effective April 23, 2026, until further orders:
- Shops, markets, shopping malls: Close by 8:00 PM (daily)
Exemptions: Pharmacies, hospitals, petrol pumps, CNG stations, dairy shops - Restaurants, tandoors, grocery & food outlets: Close by 10:00 PM
Takeaway and delivery services remain unrestricted - Marriage halls, marquees & event venues: Close by 10:00 PM
- Sports facilities, clubs & gyms: Close by 10:00 PM
The district administration has urged both the public and the business community to ensure full compliance with the new directives.
