PESHAWAR (Kashmir English): Security forces and law enforcement agencies have killed a large number of alleged terrorists in an intelligence-based operation in Khyber district.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was carried out on April 21 based on intelligence inputs, with the aim of taking effective action against terrorist elements present in the area.
During the operation, a fierce exchange of fire took place between the security forces and the terrorists, in which 22 terrorists were killed.
The ISPR said that during the operation, the terrorists opened indiscriminate fire due to fear of arrest, which spread panic in the area. As a result of this firing, a tragic incident took place, in which a 10-year-old innocent child was martyred.
According to the spokesperson, a large quantity of arms and ammunition has also been recovered from the possession of the slain terrorists, which is proof that these elements were involved in various terrorist activities in the area and were trying to sabotage law and order.
The ISPR further said that a search and clearance operation is underway to eliminate any remaining terrorist elements in the area to ensure complete peace and stability.
The security forces have expressed their resolve that operations will continue until the complete eradication of terrorism from the country, and no subversive element will be tolerated.
