KARACHI (Kashmir English): In the 35th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11, Karachi Kings showed a brilliant performance in chasing the target and defeated Lahore Qalandars by 5 wickets.

In this high-scoring match ( LQ vs KK) played at Gaddafi Stadium, Karachi Kings achieved the target of 200 runs in the 19th over.

Batting first, Lahore Qalandars scored 199 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Fakhar Zaman’s 61 and Abdullah Shafiq’s aggressive 62 runs put Qalandars in a strong position. Moeen Ali was the successful bowler for Karachi Kings, taking 2 wickets.

While chasing the target, Karachi Kings did not start well, and opener Jason Roy was dismissed for just 9 runs. However, captain David Warner held one end and played an unbeaten 63 runs off 44 balls.

In the middle order, Moeen Ali turned the tables on the match, scoring 39 runs off just 17 balls, which included 4 sixes and a four.

In the final moments, Khushdil Shah scored a blistering 44 runs off just 14 balls, sealing the match in Karachi’s favour with 8 balls to spare. Khushdil’s innings included 6 sixes and 2 fours.

Lahore Qalandars’ bowlers failed to defend. Obaid Shah took 3 wickets but proved costly, while captain Shaheen Shah Afridi gave away 51 runs in 4 overs.

Haris Rauf and Daniel Sims took one wicket each. With this win, Karachi Kings have not only improved their position on the points table but have also further consolidated their lead over Lahore Qalandars.
