LEEPA (Kashmir English): Residents of Union Council Banh Mullah protested against prolonged load shedding of electricity, giving the Power Development Organisation a one-hour ultimatum to restore electricity or face further action.
The protesters have demanded that an interrupted supply of electricity be ensured and that unannounced load shedding be ended.
The Power Development Organisation (PDO) received a one-hour deadline from the protesters who became angry because of the long-lasting power outage. The demonstrators declared an immediate shutdown of the powerhouse operating system as their next step if they failed to receive prompt resolution of their complaints.
In addition, elected local government representatives visited the Kupa Banh Mullah Power House and met with the Deputy Director PDO and Resident Engineer. They discussed in detail on public concerns, and possible steps were discussed to improve the power supply.
Later, local government representatives and PDO officials, while talking exclusively to Kashmir Digital, assured that public complaints would be redressed soon and practical steps would be taken to improve the power situation.
