LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to retain Shan Masood as the captain of the Test team, while former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed is likely to be made the head coach.
According to the media reports, the captain and head coach will be officially announced along with the announcement of the schedule for the series against Bangladesh.
Sarfaraz Ahmed is likely to take over the responsibilities of head coach for the first time, replacing Azhar Mahmood, while he is also the national selector at the moment.
Reports say that the decision to retain Shan Masood as captain has been taken to maintain continuity in the team.
The Pakistan team is to play a Test series against Bangladesh, West Indies, and England next, while the last series against South Africa was a draw.
The ongoing red-ball camp at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore is also being held under the supervision of Sarfaraz Ahmed, where young players are being trained.
