PTI AJK says party registration essential for transparency of elections

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Azad Kashmir has said that the party registration was essential for transparency of upcoming general elections in the state.

A high-level meeting of PTI Azad Kashmir was held under the chairmanship of Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi, former Prime Minister and President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Azad Kashmir.

Members of the Assembly, members of the Governing Body, Divisional Presidents, District Presidents, office-bearers and senior workers of ILF, Youth Wing, ISF and other wings participated in the meeting.

Parliamentary Leader Khawaja Farooq Ahmed, Senior Vice President and Member of Assembly Dewan Mohiuddin Dewan, General Secretary Mir Atiq-ur-Rehman, Mian Shafiq Jhagvi, Amir Nazir Chaudhry and other senior leaders were also in attendance.

Detailed consultations were held on important issues including Imran Khan’s release, upcoming elections, and the overall political situation in the country.

A strong commitment was made to fully participate in every call of the central party for Imran Khan’s release.

The participants of the meeting reiterated their resolve to contest the upcoming elections with full public support and Imran Khan’s narrative.

“PTI registration is essential”

The party demanded fair, transparent and impartial elections in Azad Kashmir, saying PTI Azad Kashmir’s registration is essential for the transparency of elections in Azad Kashmir.

“Azad Kashmir is a disputed territory, elections in Azad Kashmir should not be made controversial like those in Occupied Kashmir, all political parties should be provided equal opportunities for free elections,” PTI Azad Kashmir demanded.

The party strongly condemned the increase in petroleum product prices, demanding an immediate withdrawal of the hike.
