HONG KONG (Kashmir English): Pakistan’s Asim Khan qualifies for the World Squash Championship by defeating Malaysia’s Joachim Chihuahua 3-2 in the World Championship Asian Qualifier event held in Hong Kong.
Asim Khan‘s winning score was 3-11, 11-13, 11-9, 11-3, 10-12. Asim played excellently well in the initial stages, winning the first two games with accurate shot making and excellent control.
But in an unexpected turn of events, Chihuahua made a dramatic come back to win the next two games and draw the match.
Pakistan’s Asim Khan qualifies for the World Squash Championship after winning the Asian Qualifier in Hong Kong. He defeated Malaysia’s Joachim Chuah 3-2 in a thrilling final, with the match lasting 82 minutes.

PSA World Championship
This has now paved the way for Asim Khan to qualify for the upcoming PSA World Championship to be hosted in Giza, Egypt, from May 8 to 16, 2026. The grand tournament is set to host the best squash players around the globe to vie for a substantial cash prize of $700,000.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Noor Zaman and Muhammad Ashab Irfan have already secured their berths in the global event owing to their impressive world rankings.
