MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Neelam Police Constable Fayyaz Ahmed was dismissed from the service after an inquiry report found him guilty of immoral activities and dereliction of duty.
As per the details, the constable was found absent from duty at the Challiana checkpost in the Neelum district on November 24, 2024.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Tanzil ASI Saddar Police Station arrested the police official from a local hotel in Muzaffarabad, where he was engaging in immoral activities with a married woman.
According to the inquiry report available with Kashmir Digital, after a thorough investigation by the relevant agencies, it was proved that Constable Fayyaz Ahmed was involved in the crime.
The inquiry report stated that the video of the constable’s act also went viral on social media, bringing the police department into disrepute.
Moreover, he also refused to cooperate with the inquiry commission, due to which strict action was taken against him.
As per the details, the Inquiry Officer initiated the probe and ordered the accused cop, Fayyaz, to submit a response charge sheet by Decemebr 26, 2024.
But, the said person failed to submit the standard response to the Inquiry Officer. Even after the reminder notice and extension of the deadline, the accused did not submit the response.
However, the accused voluntarily submitted the response charge sheet on January 1, 2025, to the Inquiry Officer, stating that he was not posted at the police check post.
Upon investigation, it was revealed that Constable Fayyaz left the checkpost for Muzaffarabad with the permission of shift in-charge Malik Sajjad for urgent work.
Furthermore, the inquiry report mentioned that a medical examination of both the accused was conducted which proved that the accused Fayyaz Ahmed and Nazia Norren committed adultery.
“The said case not only brought disrepute to the police department but also brought disrepute to his family,” the report said.
The inquiry has found that Fayyaz Ahmed has not only committed misconduct, negligence, recklessness, and dereliction of duty but has also committed gross negligence under the Police Misconduct and Disciplinary Procedure Act, of 1992.
During the inquiry, the constable found the said person guilty and sent the report along with the report of the police E&D Procedure Act, 1992 to the Inquiry Office.
