NEELUM (Kashmir English): A woman died while six other injured when a tourist vehicle fell into the banks of the Neelum River in Neelum Valley on Friday.
According to the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Neelum, a tourist vehicle was coming from Taubat to Kel when it met with an accident near Karimabad village.
As a result of the accident, 22-year-old woman Faha Umair died, and all others in the vehicle were injured.
The injured include Umair Yousuf, Ruqya Umair, Rahima Umair, Muhammad Sohail, Muhammad Mustafa, and Samira. They all belonged to the same family, hailing from Rawalpindi.
Initially, local people rescued the tourists. They pulled the vehicle out of the river, rescued the injured, and shifted them to a local hospital.
Later, the rescue authorities shifted the deceased and injured to the Army Camp Hospital in Helmat, where the condition of five is out of danger, while Samira Umair is said to be in critical condition.
DDMA Neelum said that the injured are being transferred to the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital in Kel by the Public Health officials for further treatment.
