HYDERABAD (Kashmir English): Australian cricketer Marnus Labuschagne has been appointed as the captain of the new franchise Hyderabad Kingsmen for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 11.
The franchise announced the appointment through its official social media accounts on Tuesday.
The video posted on social media accounts showed a plane dropping leaflets over the city of Hyderabad, which read ‘Marnus Labuschagne announced captain’.
It should be noted that Australia’s top-order batter Labuschagne joined the Kingsmen through a direct signing for Rs58 million ahead of the PSL players’ draft.
The announcement was made on the official social media accounts of the franchise.

“Yeah… this just happened. Calm under pressure. Built for big moments. Marnus Labuschagne locked in as our direct signing for PSL,” the caption read.
In addition to that, the franchise also signed four local players, including star opening-batter Saim Ayub, wicket-keeper batter Usman Khan, pacer Akif Javed, and emerging star Maaz Sadaqat.
Furthermore, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) official social media handles posted that Saim Ayub was signed in the Platinum category for a mammoth Rs126 million, while Usman Khan was picked in the Diamond category and was acquired for Rs46.2 million.
PSL 11 schedule
The upcoming edition of PSL will start from March 26, and eight teams will play 44 matches in Faisalabad, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Peshawar, and Rawalpindi.
Faisalabad and Peshawar will become the newest venues to host a marquee tournament.
The eight participating teams in the 39-day event include Hyderabad Kingsmen, Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, and Rawalpindi Pindiz.
For the first time, six venues, Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, Peshawar’s Imran Khan Stadium, Multan Cricket Stadium, Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium, Karachi’s National Bank Stadium, and Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, will host matches.
Hyderabad Kingsmen will start their PSL 11 campaign with the opening match against Lahore Qalandars, which will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium on March 26.
