NEW DELHI (Kashmir English): A complaint has been filed in Pune against Indian Cricketer Hardik Pandya over alleged disrespect to the national flag during the T20 World Cup celebrations.
According to the details, a lawyer from Pune has filed a complaint against Team India’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya because he showed disrespect to the national flag during the team’s celebration after their victory at the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
He asked the police to start an investigation and create a formal report of the incident. At the Shivaji Nagar Police Station, Wajid Khan filed his complaint.
He stated that Hardik had used the national flag of India as a personal garment while he celebrated the victory with his girlfriend, Mahieka Sharma, after the Men in Blue beat New Zealand by 96 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
“Hardik Pandya was celebrating with his girlfriend. He tied the national flag to his back. The 1971 National Flag Act, Section 2, requires people to show proper respect for the national flag.
Hardik was lying with his girlfriend while he wore the national flag. The national flag is disrespected through this act,” he told Indian news media.
