NEW YORK (Kashmir Eglish): WhatsApp is likely to introduce an optional subscription plan very soon, named WhatsApp Plus, according to a report by Wabetainfo.
In the WhatsApp Plus plan, users will be able to get additional features, and people who use the messaging app for free will not have access to these features.
The report said that these additional features, such as multiple chat management tools and app customization, are being worked on in the Android and iOS versions and have not been released yet.
The report further said that these additional features will be available to users who pay a monthly fee.
However, the basic features of WhatsApp, including messaging, voice and video calls, media sharing, and privacy features, will continue to be available for free.
WhatsApp has not yet announced the fee for WhatsApp Plus or the date of its introduction.
According to the report, the WhatsApp Plus subscription will mainly focus on personalization and additional features, and will keep the basic features away from it.
One of these additional features will be chat pinning. Currently, on WhatsApp, users can pin 3 chats. But WhatsApp Plus users will be able to pin 20 chats, while 14 different app icons, 19 color options, and many other features will be available.
The report indicated that these additional features will be added by WhatsApp over time.
WhatsApp launches option to share past group messages with newcomers
Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp has introduced a long-awaited option that allows new group chat members to see recent conversation history sent before they joined the group.
The Group Message History feature gives group admins and existing members the option to share between 25 and up to 100 recent messages with someone who has just joined the group.
Previously, newcomers could only see messages sent after they were added, often leading to confusion in active group chats.
