WASHINGTON (Kashmir English): The US President Donald Trump has expressed his desire to play a role in the selection process of Iran’s next leader, according to the international news agency Reuters.

President Trump said that it is necessary for him to be personally involved in the selection of Iran’s new leadership so that a leader emerges who will bring peace and stability to the country.

In an interview, Trump added that Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of former Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, cannot be accepted as Iran’s leader.

Iran needs a leader who will lead the country towards harmony and peace instead of tension.

Trump also said that he wants to be involved in the appointment of the Iranian Supreme Leader in the same way that he has played a role in Venezuelan politics in the past. If a hardline leadership emerges in Iran, there could be a renewed risk of tension and war in the future.

It should be noted that after the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in the US and Israeli attacks, consultations are underway in religious and political circles to elect a new leadership, and Mojtaba Khamenei is being seen as the best possible candidate.

It should be noted that Mojtaba Khamenei is known for being a religious leader as well as having close ties with the Revolutionary Guards.

Trump announces to continue attacks on Iran

Trump announced the continuation of attacks on Iran, stating that the Iranian leadership is being rapidly eliminated.

President Trump said if they had not attacked Iran, it would have attacked them.

On the other hand, Iran said it will target Israeli nuclear site if invading forces sought regime change in the Islamic Republic.

Semi-official ISNA news agency quoted an Iranian military official to say that Iran will target the Israeli nuclear site of Dimona if Israel and the US seek regime change.
