ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Government of Pakistan declared an extensive boost to the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) main Benazir Kafalat Programme payments, which will now support eligible women with increased financial assistance.

The official statement declared that the quarterly payments to deserving women now extend their benefits from PKR 13,500 to PKR 14,500. The programme extension will provide direct benefits to the millions of registered women beneficiaries who participate in this programme.

The government raised quarterly assistance last year by increasing the amount from PKR 10,500 to PKR 13,500 through a PKR 2,000 hike. The authorities implemented the recent increase to assist families who face difficulties from rising inflation and expensive living costs, which provides essential financial resources for vulnerable women to manage their household needs.

The Ramadan support package determines the increase, as payments occur around the holy month to deliver financial assistance before expenses rise during that period.

The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) functions as Pakistan’s primary social safety net program, which provides financial aid to impoverished families who need assistance.

The Kafalat program offers eligible female beneficiaries who registered through the official 8171 system unrestricted cash benefits which they receive every three months.

The payment increase will assist people who need to handle their rising food expenses and utility costs and household expenses which result from inflation.
