ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan has ‘rejected’ reports circulating on social media by Afghan officials that the Taliban forces have shot down a Pakistani fighter jet in Nangarhar and captured its pilot alive.

In its report posted on X, the Fact Checker of Pakistan’s Ministry of Information said that this false claim was widely amplified by Indian media and Afghan propaganda outlets.

Denying the claim, the ministry confirmed that no Pakistani jet was shot down. Proving, the report added that no independent international media outlet or a defense monitoring agency has verified the claim.

Furthermore, the Afghan officials have not presented any visual proof of crash debris, wreckage site, or captured pilot. “No geolocated imagery or satellite evidence supports the claim,” the Fact Checker stated.
