ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): An alleged audio leak of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram has surfaced, highlighting disagreements within the party regarding a recent sit-in outside the Supreme Court and Adiala Jail.
In the audio, Akram reportedly revealed that several members of the National Assembly (MNA) did not attend the sit-in to meet former prime minister Imran Khan, according to media reports.
He attributed the confusion to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi stated that the party members should have been informed the night before about the gathering.

Waqas Akram described the last-minute instructions for lawmakers to arrive immediately as ‘unreasonable,” noting that many reside in remote areas and do not have access to helicopters for swift travel. He added that if a sit-in had been planned, the party should have ensured the participation of its 90 MPAs.
He explains that the decision for the sit-in was made suddenly at 8 PM, which left many MNAs far from Islamabad at that time. He pointed out that the MNAs do not have helicopters to reach the location immediately.
Furthermore, he emphasised that if the decision to hold a sit-in was made, the Chief Minister should have ensured that his 90 MPAs accompanied him.
