SIALKOT (Kashmir English): In a groundbreaking move, Kamil Khan, the owner of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) team Sialkot, on Wednesday officially introduced the name and logo of the franchise, declaring it to be “Sialkot Stallionz“.
OZ Developers had acquired the franchise for an astonishing amount of Rs 1.85 billion in the auction that took place on January 8. From that moment, it was widely predicted that the team would be named after the famous T20 domestic team from the last decade, Sialkot Stallions.
Khan, who confirmed the rumors, used the social media platform X and said: “You guessed it. You waited. Now, I am proud to officially present SIALKOT STALLIONZ.”
The owner of the franchise also indicated his thrill at becoming a part of the premier Pakistan cricket league and stated, “Excited to be part of the Pakistan Super League journey.”

The official social media account of Sialkot Stallionz posted the promo video, captioning, “From the heart of Sialkot, a name that carries resilience and pride. Introducing Sialkot Stallionz.”
Earlier this month, a historic bid from OZ Developers at the PSL franchise auction secured Sialkot as one of the two new teams. OZ Developers had been in a bidding war with software company i2c before outbidding their Rs1.82 billion offer.
Hyderabad was the other PSL team selected from the allotted cities, winning the franchise for Rs 1.75 billion under FKS Group.
This will be Hyderabad’s and Sialkot’s first appearance since the league’s inception in 2015, with this year’s tournament scheduled for March 26 to 3.
Sialkot Stallionz will join Hyderabad, Lahore Qalandars, Islamabad United, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, Karachi Kings, and Multan Sultans as the other teams in the PSL.
