CALIFORNIA (Kashmir English): Google has implemented a significant change, heralding a new feature that lets users switch their Gmail addresses for the first time ever, thus allowing them to set up a new email address according to their liking.
Such a feature brings along primary Gmail address modification for the new users, which is a first-time event in the 20-year history of the service. The modification has been dispensed as part of an all-embracing scheme embracing the advanced AI-induced attributes.
It means a deep embedding of Google’s Gemini AI into all the services like Gmail and pictures, etc., the whole come-up has been spelt out by Google, stating that the most recent change would mean an enabling of one primary Gmail address alteration for a user every 12 months, with a limit of three such actions.
The cybersecurity professionals are of the opinion that the recent change has opened up a channel for users to reconstruct their digital footprint and reinforce the safety of their online activities.
Changing to a new email and refreshing it in significant accounts, users can scale down their online presence to only relevant messages, those forwarding to marketing lists, and the risk of data leaks related to old email addresses.
What is more, the previous email could be left for usage only in connection with very infrequent services. Gmail Aliases offer better management of messages coming through.
However, in spite of Google’s powerful spam-filtering mechanism, the experts still recommend that users take precautions, as this protection can be circumvented sometimes. Google, which is a subsidiary of Alphabet, says that the feature is rolling out in a phased manner. Thus, if it is not your turn yet to use this feature, don’t worry, as it will soon be your turn to access it.
