MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, has taken notice of the news circulating on social media regarding the removal of a board on the gate named after the late former President and PM AJK, Sardar Sikandar Hayat.

According to the press release issued by DGPR AJK, the premier has sought a report from the district administration of Kotli over the removal of the board.

The district administration and Mayor Kotli stated that the board on the gate named after the late Sardar Sikandar Hayat had collapsed due to rain and wind in April last year, while the new board was installed fifty feet away from it on the instructions of the Local Government Board, on which a welcome banner was installed in connection with the proposed visit of the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir.

They further said that the news of the removal of the banner with the name of the late Sardar Sikandar Hayat is against the facts, on which Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore directed the district administration to immediately install a new banner of his name on the gate named after Sardar Sikandar Hayat.

“Sikandar Hayat was a national leader, the region and the government recognize his services, including the names of any leaders who have left this world, but politics should be avoided,” the premier said.
