ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Meteorological Department has forecast rain as a new wind system is expected to affect the upper parts of the country.
The westerly wind system is likely to enter the country on December 28, and rain has been predicted in Balochistan and adjacent areas on December 29.
The new weather alert indicates that the rain is expected in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and other parts of the country from December 29 to January 2-3, 2026.
The first rain of the winter season in Karachi is predicted to occur on December 30.
The westerly wind system is expected to affect Karachi between Tuesday and Wednesday, after which a cold snap is anticipated.
Snowfall is expected in northern areas, including northern Balochistan.
During this time, light rain is expected in southern Punjab and Sindh.
