ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): In a recent development, Field Marshal Asim Munir stated that Pakistan is an important country and is determined to achieve its rightful place in the international community.

During the National Security Workshop 27 (NSW–27), Asim Munir described the professional performance of the armed forces and the determination shown during the struggle for justice as an example of increasing Pakistan’s global reputation.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir said that national unity is our greatest strength, and together we will thwart the conspiracies of the enemies, Insha Allah.

He termed the security of every citizen as the top priority and said that Pakistan’s border integrity and the security of citizens will not be sacrificed under any circumstances.

The participants of the National Security Workshop 27 (NSW–27) visited the General Headquarters (GHQ), where they were given a detailed briefing on Pakistan’s regional and internal security environment and national security situation.

During the visit, the participants also participated in direct discussions with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. The Army Chief highlighted the growing geopolitical competition, cross-border terrorism, and hybrid threats in the regional environment.

He said that despite complex challenges such as externally sponsored terrorism and information-centric warfare, Pakistan’s armed forces, intelligence agencies, and law enforcement agencies are demonstrating full professionalism and commitment in safeguarding national security.

The Army Chief stressed that national unity and institutional coherence are essential for long-term peace, stability, and prosperity, while maintaining the commitment to cooperation with the federal and provincial governments.

He said that ongoing measures against smuggling, drug trafficking, and organized crime, improved border control, and measures to repatriate illegal foreigners are playing an important role in safeguarding national security.

The National Security Workshop NSW–27 is a flagship program of the National Defence University (NDU), which involves members of parliament, senior civil and military officers, and representatives of academia and civil society.
