LAHORE (Kashmir English): The possible names of two new teams to be included in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) have been revealed.
According to media reports, Faisalabad and Gilgit are likely to be agreed as new PSL franchises.
The PCB had shortlisted a total of six cities for the new teams, including Faisalabad, Gilgit, Sialkot, Hyderabad, Rawalpindi, and Muzaffarabad.
Two of these final names are expected to be finalized soon. The Pakistan Cricket Board has also invited formal offers for the two new teams.
On the other hand, sources also say that the ongoing dispute between the PCB and Multan Sultans has not been resolved yet.
The PCB has sent valuation documents to five franchises and has also offered renewal to the same five teams after the valuation.
Bidding Process
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) opened the bidding process for two new franchises, marking the beginning of expansion in the Pakistan Super League.
This step represents the important moment when the league expanded from six to eight teams, with the move sustaining the board’s confidence in the rising popularity of cricket and the strong demand for more regional representation.
The board has now invited interested groups to submit their technical proposals. All submissions should be completed by 15 December.
The proposals will be reviewed the same day at eleven thirty in the morning. Only those bidders who meet the technical standards will go to the next round.
