ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): In a breakthrough, the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) have arrested four more facilitators linked to the Islamabad blast.
Official sources said the arrested people were facilitating the suicide bomber who was part of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan TTP/“Fitna-ul-Khawarij” network.
According to the investigators, the group was working on instructions received from TTP commanders operating from Afghanistan.
Preliminary investigations have established that the group’s operational commander, Saeed-ur-Rehman alias “Dadullah”, using the Telegram application, gave orders for a suicide attack in Islamabad.
On the day of the incident, Sajidullah alias “Sheena” fitted the bomber Usman alias “Qari” with an explosive vest.
Authorities said the plot at every stage was being monitored by the senior leadership of the TTP/“Fitna al-Khawarij” operating from Afghanistan.
During interrogation, handler Sajidullah alias “Sheena” revealed that Dadullah had sent him photographs of the bomber so he could receive him upon his arrival in Pakistan.
The suicide bomber, belonging to the Shinwari tribe, was a resident of Achin, Nangarhar, Afghanistan. After crossing into Pakistan, he was kept at a hideout in a suburban area of Islamabad.
Upon receiving the instructions from Dadullah, Sajidullah got a suicide jacket from Akhan Baba graveyard in Peshawar and brought it to Islamabad to stage the attack.
Investigators have confirmed that the entire cell involved in planning and executing the attack has now been arrested. Further investigations are underway, and more arrests and revelations are expected as the probe continues.
